About the Eggs
Throughout the spring thru fall pasturing season, our hens are kept on fresh certified organic pasture which they consume with great enthusiasm. The vitamin rich forage, supplemented with a balanced mix of organic grains and minerals, creates a nutritious egg high in vitamins, minerals and omega-3 fatty acids.

During the colder months, the pasture shelters are covered with an insulating blanket and attached to passive solar hoop buildings providing warmth and abundant light. After the morning eggs have been laid, the birds pick through fresh chopped hay, bringing a touch of summer to their winter diet.  As the housing is cleaned, the bedding and droppings blend to create a rich compost that is used to maintain a healthy and fertile soil.

We enjoy our birds and are committed to caring for them in a humane manner while producing a high quality egg delivered fresh to you. We hope that you will see and taste the difference a little grass and sunshine can make.

How Neighborhood Delivery Works
The order form (linked on this page) contains a list of over 20 sites that receive eggs for neighborhood pick-up.  Customers choose one of the pick-up sites to collect their eggs from.  Most of the sites are residences where the eggs are left in a cooler that is placed in an easy to access location such as a front porch or garage.  We deliver eggs to these locations every two weeks.  On the order form, customers write in the number of eggs in dozens they would like to pick up every two weeks. This is their “egg share”. The pick-up day and time is Thursday, from 4-7 PM.  The egg cooler includes a check-off list.  After taking the eggs from the cooler, the customer crosses their name off the list.
It’s that simple.
